New Entrance Area – Northgate High School

As part of a partnering arrangement, Russen & Turner Architectural Design were appointed as Lead Designers to provide a new entrance and gallery space for Northgate High School, following its awarding of ‘Specialist Status’. Replacing an existing single storey, dark structure, the new entrance utilised existing ‘cheek’ walls to support a curved roofed structure enhanced by multi-directional ambient light.
The focus was to provide a light and spacious interior, allowing direct access to a newly fronted reception area. The school’s wishes were for the new entrance to become a focal point to the school for all who approached.
